Outside of academia, I have worked as an Environmental Consultant and now operate as a freelancer, collaborating with a range of organisations, government agencies, and community groups to navigate complex environmental challenges.
My consulting draws on a background in ecology, spatial analysis, the social sciences, and science communication to deliver clear, evidence-based insights and recommendations.
I'm a listener who seeks out connections that strengthen outcomes. For me, effective environmental consulting is as much about building relationships and trust as it is about data. Both are essential for achieving meaningful and lasting impact.

Contributed to the development of State of Environment (SoE) 2026 biodiversity measures in collaboration with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network, and other experts by reviewing and synthesising existing indicators, and producing evidence-based summary outputs for both public and academic audiences.
In collaboration with the Environment Society of Oman, I led the design of Oman's first Marine Mammal Atlas. The atlas compiles spatial and temporal maps for all 20 species of confirmed marine mammals found in Oman and is now the most comprehensive national record to date. It has since been featured across multiple platforms, supporting both public awareness and marine-spatial planning efforts in Oman.
Contributed to data collection across multiple cetacean vessel and aerial-based surveys with the Fujairah Research Centre, alongside leading report writing to assess spatial and temporal patterns across survey periods.
Led training for rangers from the Environment Authority in all technical protocols for the first satellite tagging deployment of green turtles in the country, ensuring effective skills transfer and supporting long-term project sustainability.
Contracted by The Nature Conservancy, I explored global best practices in sea turtle ecotourism, consulting with experts and project managers to develop context-specific recommendations for the Arnavon Islands. Findings were presented in a report to guide the next phases of the project.
Collaborated with coral experts globally to create various infographics illustrating coral distribution and reef metrics data in the NEOM region.
